For visual artist Awoiska van der Molen (1972), analogue photography is the primary medium. Her black and white photos are abstract representations of anonymized landscapes, stemming from her desire to return to where we come from: untouched nature.

Van der Molen's work is included in the collections of renowned institutions such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Museum for Photography in Seoul. Her first major solo exhibition was presented in 2016 at Foam in Amsterdam.

For her collaboration with Unseen, Van der Molen worked with digital images for the first time. The stills are fragments from short video recordings she made while shooting analogue projects. As part of our first chapter, STLLNSS, these images were released as a special edition. Those who acquired a print also received the moving image as an NFT (Non-Fungible Token).
